My purpose for this blog is to show how I work in order to help fellow struggling artists who might be suffering from the same problems. In turn, I’d welcome any constructive comments and suggestions to improve my own work.

Birds of Paradise Island. December 2019. Oil Paint
The idea for these paintings came from some pages of a colouring book for adults my friend gave me for Christmas. They were black outlines only. The choice of colour was left to the creative mind and mine was as fertile. There was no end to the patterns and any other changes I wanted to make to the pictures. Because my sight impairment makes judging the position and often the shape of things almost impossible, the bold black lines used in the adult colouring books were easier for me to trace.
No sooner had I finished the above painting, I started another one of a different bird this time. I’d completely forgotten the title I’d given the above painting when I started another one of a cockatoo this time and gave it a similar title. Perhaps it was meant to be.

The Power of Love. Nov 2019. Oil
The title for this one came instantly to mind before I even started painting it. My heart swelled with warmth as I looked at these giraffes; my desire for a world where every living creature showed the same pure love for each other as these giraffes depicted in such a simple outline. My urge to paint was great and I grabbed my tools.
